What are spider veins?
Spider veins, or telangiectasias, are those tiny red, blue, or purple blood vessels found most commonly on the lower legs and certain areas of the face.
What are the treatments like?
Sclerotherapy is a procedure used to treat blood vessels. Using a tiny syringe fitted with a micro-needle, your provider will inject a small amount of sclerosing agent into the vein. Sclerosing agent displaces the blood within the vein. Sclerosing agent displaces the blood within the vein and ultimately collapses the vein. The treatment is the laser beam, which is directed into the ven, and also will collapse the vein. The result of both the laser treatment, as well as sclerotherapy, will be a gradual fading of the vein.
