Who Is a Good Candidate for Coolsculpting in Coolsculpting.

If you’ve been looking for a non-surgical way to finally get rid of excess fat from your belly, arms, legs, or back, then you may want to consider Coolscultping.

During the CoolSculpting® procedure, a non-invasive applicator delivers precisely controlled cooling to the body area that we are treating to specifically target underlying fat while leaving surface skin and other surrounding tissue unaffected.

CoolSculpting is a non-invasive procedure that exposes fat to controlled cooling over a period of time. When fat cells are exposed to extreme cold, it triggers a process of natural cell death and the dead cells are naturally removed, which gradually reduces the thickness of the fat layer.

Coolscupting can deliver the body you have been working so hard to achieve. However, Coolsculpting isn’t for everyone. Read on to discover if a Coolsculpting procedure is right for you.

Are You Near Your Target Weight?

Coolsculpting is a procedure designed to reduce fat, not weight. The system freezes fat cells to prevent reduce fat by about 25% in a specific area, but if someone is looking to lose 20-30 pounds, then Coolsculpting will not be a viable solution.  Discussing your weight loss goals with a doctor can help you reach your target weight.

Are You Stuck with Stubborn Fat?

In certain areas of the body, fat is almost impossible to get rid of. If you have small pockets or deposits of fat on certain areas of the body, Coolsculpting can be extremely helpful. It permanently removes that fat without invasive surgery.

What is Your State of Health?

Although it isn’t a surgery and typically has fewer risks, Coolsculpting is still a medical procedure. Some possible side effects following the procedure are nerve pain and bruising. The healthier you are, the less likely you will be to experience side effects. If you have any chronic conditions or other health-related concerns are sure to discuss these with the Coolsculpting practitioner.

Are you Pregnant?

If you are pregnant there are a few reasons to postpone the procedure. First, the effects of the procedure on a fetus are unknown. Second, the weight fluctuations women have during pregnancy could affect your results. You may still have fat deposits after giving birth. If you’re not currently pregnant but considering it in the future, postponing Coolsculpting treatments until after you’ve had your children may make more sense.

Do You Have Ample Fat to Freeze?

Coolsculpting freezes excess fat if you don’t have enough it may not be as effective. One general rule of thumb is that you have enough fat if you’re able to grab and pinch an inch.

Coolsculpting can be a great alternative to liposuction:  the recovery time is shorter, no incisions or anesthesia, and it’s relatively painless. If liposuction has been ruled out, or you need results that won’t affect your life for 3-6 months, Coolsculpting may be the optimal choice for you.

At Iorio Plastic Surgery & Medspa, we have two CoolSculpting machines – meaning you can have procedures done on BOTH sides of your body at once if desired, in half the time it would take with only one machine!  We also feature a CoolRoom where you can watch TV, read, work, or go online during your CoolSculpting procedure. Just sit back and relax as we remove the fat!
